Research & development of new technologies
The Research & Development sector, as well as the introduction of new technologies in the production process aiming to develop new innovative products with upgraded quality that are environmentally friendly, as well as to provide services of high added value, is an integral element of Cablel Hellenic Cables Group’s business activity.
At Cablel Hellenic Cables Group, we firmly believe that Research & Development processes as well as the introduction of new technologies in the production process contribute to the creation and maintenance of a competitive advantage. For this reason, we implement significant Group-wide investments on an annual basis, which are directly connected to Research & Development.
In order to better address Research & Development demands, the Group invests primarily in its people, recognizing that quality and expertise of human resources is what essentially contributes to the success of any research effort. For this reason, the Group’s Research & Development department is staffed by highly specialized scientific personnel with excellent education. Besides, the staff’s participation in educational and lifelong learning programmes is an integral part of the department’s operation.
The collaboration on a national and international level with internationally acclaimed educational institutions, distinguished research centres and certified laboratories with international prestige, are an integral part of Cablel Hellenic Cables Group’s daily activity in Research & Development.
Cablel Hellenic Cables Group takes care to be informed and to leverage any opportunity for participation in expertise transfer groups. A striking example is the Group’s participation as a stakeholder in the two-year Tanocomp European Programme. This is a project that was funded by the European Union within the Life Long Learning Programme and was implemented from the Joint Venture of the following Partners:
  • Steinbeis – Europa – Zentrum
  • Aitiip Centro Tecnologico
  • Marketmentoro LTD
  • Glonatech Global Nanotechnologies
The participation in the Project’s activities led to the improvement of the knowledge of the Group’s executives in issues of nanotechnology and preparation of nano synthetic materials for various applications, as well as in recognizing the benefits of this particular technology.
Finally, the Group’s orientation towards Research & Development has led to the creation of a state-of-the-art, advanced polymer laboratory at the Inofyta plant. The Laboratory, among other things, conducts specialized chemical tests emphasizing on quality control and insulation analysis (XLPE) for high and extra-high voltage cables (raw materials, production process and evaluation of produced materials) as well as other polymers.
